I am just a little hermit who likes to dabble in art ^^
I'm Tori and I am a hopeless art addict (if you know a good 12 step program, let me know ;). I put a lot of care, love and attention into each of my pieces and I hope you enjoy them.
I like to do a lot of drawing, and I do it every day. The great thing about small to medium size drawings is their sense of intimacy. To me they are really meant to be held and admired up close and personal. You may have experienced the same thing if you ever saw a painting that you really liked in a book and then saw it in real life. You just realize that there is no substitute for having the genuine article right in front of you - and I hope my work gives you the same feeling.
You'll notice that I visit a wide variety of subjects and styles. This is mostly because I'm not what you'd call a 'mature' artist. I'm still learning, and I sort of hope I'll always be learning :)
I really love this tree. It's such a humble thing. After painting it, I feel for the first time that I am getting somewhere with my painting. This tree came from inside me, and that's saying something.
Yes, all that practicing is paying off. I can feel the roots reaching down, the weight of the trunk and the upward stretch of the growth.
I love the way black & white (whether brush or pen&ink forces all the emotional content to come from the lines themselves and not "cheating" with color).

Interesting. The twists & turns of life. Branching out. Looking upward. I see hopefulness. Very nice, zephi.
You absolutely hit the nail on the head, DCR.
